Campbell County Cooperative Extension Center Education Building

The Campbell County Cooperative Extension Service needed a remote facility at which it could provide a base for field trips and hands on teaching experiences for all ages of naturalists. Cardinal designed an instructional building on a backwater of the lake at A.J. Jolly Park in southern Campbell County, with a large classroom, field offices, restrooms with changing areas, an outdoor butterfly garden, and a large wood-burning fireplace. A pedestrian bridge was also designed and constructed to provide easy access to both sides of the lake from the classroom building.

This facility is presently used for nature classes, as a starting and ending point for nature walks, for astronomy classes, birding groups, forestry lectures, tree identification walks, and the study of various ecosystems.
