Located in Alexandria, Kentucky, this new 74-acre, 193 lot single family development is located 15 minutes from major interstates and downtown Cincinnati yet is located in a rural setting. The development has walk-out and lakefront home sites offering natural views. In addition, the development includes walking trails, lake amenities, benches, and picnic areas.

Cardinal prepared a comprehensive study that included onsite and offsite watershed areas. For the drainage analysis, the 145-acre watershed was broken down into 4 pre-development and 6 post-development drainage areas and was analyzed for existing and proposed conditions using the SCS methodology. The proposed grading within the 74-acre development area leaves a large green-belt or buffer zone. One detention pond and three large retention lakes were completed to reduce existing peak runoff rates from defined discharge points. Cardinal provided complete design services for the Summerlake development, including grading, storm water pollution prevention (erosion control), roadways, water distribution, sanitary sewerage, storm drainage, and permitting. Cardinal worked closely with the developer, Summerlake Development. LLC to ensure that the project met their stringent standards.
